A. Company Profile
Dendreon (NASDAQ:DNDN) focuses on the development of targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer. The Company's innovative approaches include four therapeutic platforms: therapeutic vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, small molecules, and prodrugs.
B. Products
| Product | Indication | Clinical Status |
|---|---|---|
| APC8024 | Breast, colorectal, and ovarian cancers | Phase II |
| Provenge | Prostate cancer | Phase III |
| Mylovenge | Multiple myeloma | Phase III |
1. APC8024
Autologous antigen presenting cells were collected by leukapheresis and loaded with BA7072, an antigen construct consisting of recombinant sequences from both the extracellular and intracellular domains of HER2 (HER500) fused to human GM-CSF. The resulting vaccine is APC8024, an anti-HER2 vaccine.
2. Provenge
Provenge is an investigational therapeutic cancer vaccine (include dendrites) and stimulates a person's own immune system against prostate cancer cells. It was developed through Denderon's propertary antigen delivery cassette technology, a recombinant form of an antigen found in 95% of prostate cancers, prostatic acid phosphatase (PAP).
Provenge was generally well tolerated; the most common side effects, chills and fever, were mild to moderate and typically went away within one or two days.
3. Mylovenge
Mylovenge (APC8020) is an immunotherapy product consisting of autologous dendritic cells pulsed with the patient's immunoglobulin idiotype, which is a tumor-specific antigen.
